Hendrikus De Vaan’s passion for the film industry has taken him far away from his Ratapiko home.
But speaking from Budapest, Hungary, De Vaan said home was about what you make of where you are at the time.
“Cities are cities and people are people – you choose to make it your home.”
De Vaan recently spent three days in Cannes where he won second place in the AsiaPacific Animation category at the Young Director Award for his stop motion film, DISAPPEAR.
The Young Director Award ceremony is recognised as the most important fringe event of the Cannes Lions festival, attracting more than 400 participants and 1000 spectators every year, giving considerable international exposure to the directors who are being celebrated…
