Maryland Summer Jazz Faculty Member

Tim Young, the community leader of Young Society of Outstanding Professionals, was recently a faculty member at the Maryland Summer Jazz program . MSJ is a program designed for serious semi-pro and adult amateurs who desire to become better players. It is an online global community of students from 25 countries. Young was among a prestigious line-up of faculty members including, Tony Martucci, Paul Bollenback, Amy Shook, and Jeff Antoniuk the founder of Maryland Summer Jazz. Faculty guest artists like Wycliffe Gordon, Peter Erskine, and John Patitucci also shared their knowledge and expertise with the students. Young taught several jazz combos, and piano masterclasses during the event. When asked about his experience, Young stated that, “teaching at Maryland Summer Jazz was a learning experience for me. I just wanted the students to learn something that they can take home with them”.
